Training and development
Talent management, training and internal mobility are permanent fixtures within Tarkett’s organization and constitute an integral part of our corporate culture.
Annual performance and development appraisals are conducted at all levels of the organization. They allow employees to get feedback on their performance against annual targets, to assess their skills based on common standards for the whole Group and to define a personal development plan.
These interviews form the basis of annual talent reviews, which enable us to better prepare each individual’s evolution and anticipate organizational changes. In 2011, the Group conducted nearly 2000 talent reviews.
In addition to annual interviews, Human Resources teams also conduct personal development interviews with staff members to prepare their job evolution.
The Group’s training policy is elaborated based on individual development plans, but also on Tarkett’s strategic orientations, on transversal initiatives such as WCM, or on job function evolutions.
Beyond individual training, which constitutes the bulk of training efforts conducted by Tarkett, the Group has implemented over recent years the following transversal programs:
- More than 700 managers were trained in “Manager @ Tarkett” to improve their managerial skills
- Over 600 people increased their project management skills via the “Project Management @ Tarkett” program
- Employees are further trained in product knowledge through the Tarkett Academy. Since 2010, these programs have been enriched by a distance learning "e-campus Program"
Internal mobility: a cornerstone of Tarkett’s people development program
Internal mobility creates new opportunities for our people, allows us to plan for organic growth and helps us to ensure that our organization has the right talents at the right time in the right position. In addition to matching the company’s talent needs, competencies and skills, our structured approach to internal mobility helps Tarkett to build a strong international and culturally diverse culture.

Tarkett Awards
Recognizing the contributions of our employees to Tarkett’s success and promoting entrepreneurial efforts is another key element of our philosophy. The annual Tarkett Awards recognize special projects from across the world that have had an impact on our business, customer relationships or brand image.
The seven categories correspond to the group’s strategy: Customer, Cost, Cash, Commitment to the Environment, Commitment to People, Creativity, and the President’s Trophy.
